Latest Release - Desert Runner
Greetings from Los Angeles,
May has been a busy month, we wrapped up on a shoot in the Mojave earlier in the month and we are continuing to plan our shoot schedule for the remainder of the year.
I am often asked about my process when I create art. Truthfully, research is one of the key drivers behind all of my concepts. Art needs to be authentic, have commercial appeal, and most importantly, it needs to be engaging. To achieve that, I spend a lot of time searching for locations, understanding the roots of my concepts and developing a thesis of why people would want the piece on their walls.
Earlier this year I was considering how I could shoot in the Mojave Desert, a few hours outside of Los Angeles. It’s a place of rebels, escaping the clutches of conformity found in the bigger cities such as Los Angeles. There is a vastness to the landscape that spurs the imagination and an arid beauty screaming for recognition. The scorched earth is punctuated by Joshua Tree’s and the remanence of a time once left behind, Motels on life support and old abandoned gas stations that provide the perfect canvas to create bad ass art.
As with many of my concepts, I like to challenge conformity. I set out to capture the spirit of rebellion that roams freely in most bikers while using the frame to freeze time, encapsulating the essence of a sophisticated biker rebel.
